We are seeking a passionate person to fill the position of Mechanical Design Engineer at our new Bedford, NH location.

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing machines, fixtures, tooling and processes.

The engineer will:

  • Incorporate safety and the needs of operators, technicians, and maintenance into the design process
  • Work collaboratively with controls engineers and other mechanical engineers to satisfy all aspects required to develop equipment and fixtures
  • Develop full 3D CAD models of new equipment and detailed drawings to support fabrication
  • Utilize resources such as FEA and in-house 3D printers, to shorten the development process
  • Specify all mechanical components, size motors and actuators, and work with purchasing to acquire components
  • Work with in-house machine shop and external shops to oversee and facilitate the making of components
  • Assemble, test, and debug the machines and fixtures
  • Provide troubleshooting and support to production equipment, both new and old

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from four-year program (Required)
  • Lean/Six Sigma certificate (Preferred)

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience designing and developing machines, fixtures, and tooling (Required)
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills (Required)
  • Knowledge of machine safety requirements and Safety Risk Assessments (Preferred)
  • Autodesk Inventor and Vault (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Preferred)
  • Ability to manage projects of varying size involving multiple departments (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
