We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to fill an entry level Technical Service Engineering position at its headquarters in Bedford, NH. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a requirement. Some experience in working with industrial applications, especially with conveyors and conveyor belting is a plus, but not a requirement. Wire Belt will work with the successful candidate on product training and applications knowledge.

As a Technical Service Engineer at Wire Belt, you will…

Assist Engineers and Maintenance personnel at customer locations, over the phone, and in video conferences, with various tasks like, providing CAD drawings, advise with equipment installation, systems configuration, maintenance advice, develop preventative maintenance plans, and provide customer support along with training. Functional requirements will also include troubleshooting systems, identification of problems, and writing up reports.

The Technical Service Engineer assists customers and the Wire Belt sales team with product identification and specifies appropriate product for applications, and in addition helps with layout, design, and/or installation of company’s products in an industrial environment, using knowledge of engineering as well as sophisticated measurement instruments and computers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with Account Representatives and Regional Business Managers providing technical support to customers.
  • Conducts equipment and machinery surveys and audits at customer sites, and develops recommendations, specifications, and instructions for proper use of company’s products in those applications.
  • Assists customers with tests to ensure that machinery has the capability to carry out desired functions with the company’s products
  • Generate CAD drawings for customers and prospects applications or internally for Wire Belt use.
  • Oversees and directs installation of company’s products to ensure that machines and equipment are correctly outfitted and functioning according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoots applications where company’s products have been installed and assists customers with obtaining optimum life out of company’s products.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university

You will have the ability to…

  • Apply mathematical operations to complete business tasks
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Travel to customer locations is necessary and could be up to 50% of the time.
